James Melsom Landschaftsarchitekt BSLA
James Melsom is a Senior Lecturer and practicing Landscape Architect and member of the BSLA, the Swiss Institute of Landscape Architects, collaborating in projects in Switzerland and throughout Europe.
Co-founder of the research laboratory LANDSKIP with Ilmar Hurkxkens working throughout the world on landscape scanning, research, analysis and transformation projects.
Currently Senior Lecturer at University of Technology Sydney, UTS. From 2007 to 2017 he worked as teacher and research fellow at the Institute of Landscape Architecture, ETH Zurich girot.arch.ethz.ch.

2024.01 SYDNEY : An invited article published in LANDSCAPE AUSTRALIA magazine on Landscape Technology & Innovation.
2024.01 BASEL : A travelling studio shall take place with 16 Australian Landscape and Architecture students throughout Switzerland in January and February of 2024, lead by James Melsom.
2023.12 BALI : A travelling studio took place with 20 Australian Landscape Architecture students and 5 local students from Udayana University, Denpasar throughout Bali December of 2023, lead by James Melsom.

2021.04 VENICE : A video work and aerial photography by James Melsom of LANDSKIP are part of the Future Assembly exhibition, at the heart of the Central Pavillion in the Venice Biennale of Architecture with Alessandra Ciancetta of AWP . The exhibition is curated by Studio Other Spaces and Olafur Eliasson, among others.
